 Filed under the nebulous genre of indie-rock, Starting Early has a sound that is unpretentiously fresh. Having cut their teeth by singing Beatle harmonies and instrumentally recreating the sounds of Cream and Led Zeppelin, the band injects a vintage vibe into their exciting and plucky songwriting. The Starting Early EP was released early in 2022 and is the band’s first major release.

Mark Dunn

Although Dunn has spent time in the Nashville and Atlanta music scenes, winning the Georgia Country Music Association Musician of the Year Award along the way, he continues to be based in his home turf of Virginia Beach, VA. When his mother took him to see the late Stevie Ray Vaughan perform when he was a kid, it turned his head around, as did the music of the great Eddie Van Halen. Eventually, Dunn’s older brother handed him his first electric guitar and hewould soon be playing professional gigs by the time he was a teenager.

   On Top Gear, a follow-up to his well-received Lyrics, Licks and Lovers album, Dunn stakes his claim as a torchbearer for the hard rock genre.

He frequently performs at venues in DC, Maryland and Virginia, as well as in other parts of the county. His styles and influences include a wide range of performers including Pete Townshend, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Gordon Lightfoot, Jimi Hendrix, Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder (amongst many, many others). His style blends baritone vocals with both aggressive strumming and meticulous finger picking.

U2TOPIA originally formed in late 2019. Comprised of seasoned musicians (and life-long U2 fans), it quickly established itself as a musical force to be reckoned with. Even in the midst of a global pandemic, the band managed to perform a series of outdoor, high-energy shows at well-known local venues such as The State Theatre and Jammin Java. U2TOPIA has gradually expanded to become a regional act, playing shows at venues such as Smoketown (Frederick), The Englewood (Hershey), Rivers Casino (Philadelphia), The Tin Roof (Baltimore), and Tally Ho Theater (Leesburg). In September, 2022, the band was the headline act for the Maryland Seafood Festival in Annapolis, MD. The 2023 schedule will see further expansion, with shows planned on Maryland's Eastern Shore, as well as performances deeper into Pennsylvania. Performing a range of music from the early 80s all the way up to present day, U2TOPIA prides itself on delivering faithful, spirited renditions of not only U2's biggest hits, but also deeper cuts from the catalog.

Since starting in 2018, the Concoction has rocked the stage at some of the most prestigious venues the DC, Virginia, and Maryland areas have to offer, while bringing a swarm of enthusiastic fans, both new and old, with them.
